I know I have been absent for the past week or so but it has been unfortunately for sad reasons.
During the superbowl party on Sunday a lifelong family friend collapsed while playing basketball and immediately passed away. Death is usually unexpected but I feel like this is especially unreal. Mark was so full of life. He touched every person who he met.
We cannot banish dangers, but we can banish fears. We must not demean life by standing in awe of death. -David Sarnoff
I’ll always remember you like this Mark…
It was odd that when I got home and sat down at my computer I turned my itunes on shuffle and this song came on. It was unfortunately appropriate.
I did do some work on Sunday before the game but I haven’t gotten much done since because of my 12 hour clinical yesterday and huge concept map project due today! Ugh.. Nursing school can be quite the drag. The Ute top is all done except I need to get some buttons and the Bella pants are all cut out but they definitely won’t come together til this next weekend. The top would have been finished sooner but I made the collar in a pure white cotton along with the turnback cuff in the same fabric and I sewed it all together and absolutely hated it so I ripped it apart and did the collar in the same print and did my own faux sleeve cuff.
I am so sorry for your loss. That is just heartbreaking.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I still find it hard that people I’ve known for years are gone. Your top looks wonderful and I really like the collar. I find that keeping busy keeps me sane.
I hope you and your family are holding up as well as you can… Your readers will be thinking of you.
I am so sorry for your loss… when you loose someone so dear to you, it always leaves an emptiness…
I wish you strength for this hard time!
So sorry to hear about your friend 😦 I agree wtih Natasha, keeping busy is a good idea and I’m sure the Bella trousers will help you on that front in some way – sewing is quite a relaxing activity. The blouse looks lovely 🙂
