On another note I signed up for Tumblr a few weeks ago and I think Im actually going to use it from now on so you can check out the few measly posts Ive done here and if you have a tumblr and want to follow me you can see the link Ive added to my sidebar!

Well its not clothes or a refashion of any kind but I felt like I owed you guys something.

So here’s a little clutch I made from some gorgeous thrifted fabric a while ago.

I just couldn’t stay in the house today as the weather here is beyond perfect so I lounged outside and read. It was magnificent. But no need to worry because I don’t have plans this evening besides spending some quality time with my sewing machine. So by tomorrow I will have lots more for you!

Update – I did forget to tell you that I used the Curvy Clutch pattern from Keyka Lou. Her Etsy shop is packed with amazing patterns! I didn’t make the dress but this is actually one of the first vintage items I ever owned and I still adore it!

So contrary to popular belief I am not dead. Though if you asked me that a couple days ago I may have answered differently. I am just starting to feel better and haven’t touched my sewing machine in about 3 weeks… how sad is that!! But I have had a lot of down time to cook up new ideas. So maybe soon I’ll have something to show you!

If I were a month, I’d be April.

If I were a day of the week, I’d be Sunday.

If I were a time of day, I’d be a lazy afternoon.

If I were a planet, I’d be Jupiter.

If I were a sea animal, I’d be a seahorse.

If I were a direction, I’d be West.

If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be a vintage footstool.

If I were a liquid, I’d be a hot cup of French press coffee.

If I were a gemstone, I’d be a diamond, I’d rather be a pearl but I guess that’s not really a gemstone.

If I were a tree, I’d be a Weeping Willow.

If I were a tool, I’d be a pair of spring-loaded gingher shears.

If I were a flower, I’d be a Lilly.

If I were a kind of weather, I’d be cloudy with a cool breeze.

If I were a musical instrument, I’d be a triangle!!

If I were a color, I’d be orange.

If I were an emotion, I’d be satisfaction.

If I were a fruit, I’d be a banana.

If I were a sound, I’d be a hiccup.

If I were an element, I’d be water.

If I were a car, I’d be anything old and orange.

If I were a food, I’d be molasses cookies or spice cake.

If I were a place, I’d be a secret hiding spot no one else knows about.

If I were a material, I’d be a floral print cotton.

If I were a taste, I’d taste like vanilla.

If I were a scent, I’d be the smell after it rains.

If I were an animal, I’d be an elephant preferably a baby one!!

If I were an object, I’d be park bench.

If I were a body part, I’d be an elbow.

If I were a facial expression, I’d be a half smirk.

If I were a song, I’d be anything from Bob Dylan.

If I were a pair of shoes, I’d be white ballet flats.

Sick of Being Sick

Ugh… I am miserably sick today.

I wish I had a kitty to snuggle and a big bowl of soup!

1,2

So I really did finish the velvet snow dress on Wednesday but I have had no chance to take any pictures and today I am preferring to lounge in my pj’s all day!

Wishful Wednesday

Here’s what I’m pining after this week…

1960s Mustard Velvet Bow Slingback Heels Size 7.5

Little black sleeveless 50s sheer dress

Vintage rhinestone scissors brooch

Colorful sweater coat

If only I had a limitless budget. A girl can dream… I mean that brooch is at the top of my list. Maybe I should get myself a very early birthday present haha

I am working on a how to for the jersey scarf which should be up in a day or so and also one for the peter pan collar on the velvet snow dress! yay

Thrift Town

So I had the day off of clinical today which was spectacularly relaxing but I feel like I got zero done.

Thats not entirely true…

I did make a nonThursday thrift store trip to try to get some of the ever popular rolled up trousers

Ignore all the weird thigh bumpiness. The shirt underneath kept getting bunched up. Both pair need a smidgen of tailoring but for $3 each its way better than a $75 pair from jcrew. Especially when the black pair are Ralph Lauren and the gray ones are Hillard & Hansen. Not too bad. I also bought the striped tee its pictured with as I watched Coco Avant Chanel and have neen dying for some simple striped tops!

I also did a lot of work on the Velvet Snow dress.

I traced a previous pattern in order to make a new neckline and armholes. I cut the sleeves off of the original dress and took them in a bit and reattached it to the new dress. I ended up hemming it a few inches shorter and taking the sides in more.

After getting the dress base all ready I used some fabric tape to map out how big I wanted the bib to be.

I have attached the bib and have the collar all set to attach and I think in the long run I will forgo the cuffs just cus im lazy and I don’t think the dress needs anything else.
