Well as my sewing skills improve I feel as though at each opportunity I need to prove myself as a serious sewer. So here I go…. Im going to make my own Halloween costume this year.
I found this pattern last summer or fall at my favorite (now long gone) thrift store “Thriftsmart” for only a quarter so obviously I could not resist.
Now guess which costume I am going to make.
No not the nurse,
I picked Little Red Riding Hood!! I have now even successfully scrounged up fabric for every piece. Finding fabric for the cape was definitely the hardest item and after looking at every local thrift spot I went to Joanns as my last resort and found the perfect red wool and it was on clearance for $7 a yard and all the clearance was an extra 50% off which makes $3.50/yd a great deal. Im making my skirt out of black fabric from my stash. Ive got the pattern cut and tomorrow its my goal to get all the fabric cut and to try to finish up the cape but we’ll see soon enough how that goes after a 12 hour clinical shift.
