I __Angela__ pledge that I shall abstain from the purchase of “new” manufactured items of clothing, for the period of 2 months. I pledge that i shall refashion, renovate, recycle preloved items for myself with my own hands in fabric, yarn or other medium for the term of my contract. I pledge that I will share the love and post a photo of my refashioned, renovoted, recycled, crafted or created item of clothing on the Wardrobe Refashion blog, so that others may share the joy that thy thriftiness brings!
Yes I have just taken an official pledge to not buy any new clothing for 2 months. This pledge is offered by a blog called Wardrobe Refashion and you can take a 2/4/6 month of lifetime pledge. This pledge doesnt start for a couple weeks but Im already getting excited to start. The part thats even better than just taking this pledge for a personal interest is that you get to blog on the site and show off what you’ve made and get inspiration from all the other pledge members!
Allison (my sis) made a good point in saying that this is basically what I do already but I feel legit now that there is an actual pledge. Probably 60-70% of my wardrobe is thrifted and probably 75% of that I have altered for a custom fit. So this is going to be an extension of what I already do.
So here are some items i worked on this week. The last one doesn’t have a before pic but trust me when i say its much better than it was!
I was so lucky to find this little number for only $4 at Savers and I know Allison was a little peeved I wouldnt let her have it when we were there but oh well cus now its all mine and fits like a glove… a little too much like a glove in the chestal region. I seem to forget sometimes that I have boobs ha well as long as I leave the top button undone its not too bad. Im going to have to replace the buttons on the dress as they are old and the gold paint is starting to wear off. The red and white stripes make me want to go to a fair and ride a ferris wheel!
This dress I picked up at Goodwill on a dollar Thursday aka it cost me a buck and after a quick wash and a couple inches taken off each side its ready to go.
These pictures have reminded me that next summer I should try venturing outside every once in a while so I wont blind the camera.
This dress was also a Saver find I got for $4. It makes me want to find a vintage apron and bake an apple pie!
