Well burdastyle is hosting a little contest for a variation of The Wenlen A-Plus A Line skirt and this is mine….
I got this mustard colored chiffon for 2 bucks at a thrift store and got the lace for about $1.50…. So very economical and chic.
This mustard color is not obviously designed for the officially palest girl in the Southwest (me). so I thought a lace overlay might help tone it down. I brought the selvage of the lace up about 5 inches from the skirt hem. Im very happy with the outcome. I think it looks very romantic and a bit on the vintage side which I love.
Not that I should expect to win or anything but I thought it might be fun to enter a contest as I have never tried my hand at a sewing competition and the skirt came together very quickly this morning so it was all in good fun and someday in the far future when the temperature drops below 90-100 degrees I can actually wear this!
