Last night after I couldnt sleep i finished up the basic parts of the jacket the shell and the lining are almost complete and I was hoping to avoid the collar until the end of the week but alas, you cannot attach lining to shell without first putting the collar in
sooo today we draft collar patterns
Lets start out by saying this is a brand new endeavor for me and well it may show
I didnt even have pattern paper so I started out with two sketch pages taped together and measured the shoulder width of the completed shell and went from there
The collar will be a basic square shape mostly because i was not about to tackle any sort of angled one like the inspiration.
So here it is as of now…. though now I have to go to the store and get a light interfacing for the collar and the buttonholes. I also need to get some sort of blue trim for the sleeves (which are 3/4 length not short like the inspiration) and for the collar.
Of course you have to use a bit of imagination since it look very flimsy and thin as of now but i hope to finish up the collar and attach the lining today and finish up the details by tomorrow!
