I know I’m probably crazy for picking this up in the first place… a size 16 maternity dress wouldn’t usually strike my fancy but ahh I loved the buttons and the collar and had to have it. One dollar well spent after I majorly took in the sleeve and sides and chopped a good foot or more off the hem! I think it turned out super cute and I can’t wait to wear it… Makes me feel like a little London in the 60′s which is exactly how I always want to feel.
See it here on Wardrobe Refashion!
Check out some awesome maternity clothes here from Jules & Jim. No alterations needed! I adore the pleated top, Is it weird I want to wear if even with no baby bump?

It was worth the effort – it is fabulous!
WOW! You are a genius! That is one of the best transformations I have ever seen! Good job!
aww thank you so much!
I LOVELOVELOVE this dress! I want to sew like you when I grow up!
Seriously!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
You’ve inspired me!… I just printed out an apron pattern like 5 minutes ago haha
You are incredible. This is such an awesome dress.
I can’t work out how you did it! Did you unpick the entire side seams AND the arm seams? Was it tricky to do?
It’s seriously looks fantastic, you surely have the exact vision for pieces of drab clothing!
Im pretty lazy when it comes to taking in the seams. I put the dress on inside out and pinched and pinned from the wrist to the hem the sew a new side seam and serge the edges… This works pretty well for items with simple lines.
WOWWWWWWWWWWWW. Love it.
Looks brilliant! Loved your tips post as well, clearly a very worthwhile purchase!
incredible. you would never have known it was a size 16 maternity dress! i love it

I love what you’ve done with this. The finished dress looks amazing and the before picture is hilarious.
Hi! I’ve been admiring your refashions for a while and just thought I’d say thanks for all you inspiration. Your clothes always look cute and individual, yet professionally made (unlike my sewing!) By the way, gotta say I love your hairstyle too!
This looks great! You can tell the dress is made from good quality fabric too, which makes it really worth investing the time to refashion it cuz then you have something really nice that fits you and you’d want to wear heaps.

I’m ridiculously jealous of this!! You’ve transformed it so so well. I’m saving it in my inspiration folder! xxx
This dress looks great! You have a very good eye for “seeing” the potential in the clothes you find. I’m in love with this particular refashion!
